West of the house, in Test Unit 2, we found convincing evidence of an outbuilding shown in an early twentieth-century photograph. A brick foundation extends across the unit, though masked with mortar in the right half. Further excavation may reveal the date of the outbuilding. The trench where the foundation was laid may contain datable artifacts discarded during construction.
