Chiles Homesite
Life Cycle of a House
Addition to the original house.

This is how the front of the house looked in the mid-19th century. The Reverend Chiles, the owner, expanded the house with a two-story addition (on the right half of the drawing). Porches also were added. Only the double chimney and brick foundation remain today.
